Ambil semua benda uji yang telah dibakar dan pisahkan untuk masing-masing formula tanah liat dan suhu pembakarannya<br \/>\n2. Amati benda uji tersebut dari warna bakarnya: pucat, cemerlang, atau gelap<br \/>\n3. Ketuk benda uji tersebut untuk mengetahui suaranya: nyaring atau tidak nyaring<\/p>\n<p>Dari hasil evaluasi uji kematangan dapat disimpulkan apakah benda uji sudah matang, belum atau bahkan terlalu matang pada suhu bakar yang telah ditetapkan.<br \/>\na. Bila belum matang, maka benda uji perlu diuji lagi dengan cara membakar pada suhu bakar lebih tinggi atau menambahkan beberapa jenis bahan lain pada massa badan tanah liat yang diuji.<br \/>\nb. Bila terlalu matang, badan uji akan berubah bentuk, sehingga suhu bakar perlu diturunkan atau kandungan bahan-bahan tahan api seperti kaolin, kwarsa dikurangi sedikit agar dapat diperoleh massa badan berkualitas tinggi yang cocok untuk suhu bakar yang diinginkan.<\/p>\n<p>Penambahan bahan-bahan lain pada massa tanah liat dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan massa badan yang berkualitas, yaitu<br \/>\na. Jika massa badan tanah liat terlalu tahan api, sehingga tidak matang pada suhu bakar yang telah diterapkan, maka perlu ditambah bahan- bahan yang bersifat fluks atau bahan yang dapat menurunkan suhu matang tanah liat seperti: calcium carbinat, talk, body frit.<br \/>\nb. Jika terlalu melebur sehingga berubah bentuk dan menjadi sangat padat pada suhu matang yang telah ditetapkan, maka adonan massa badan tanah liat perlu ditambah dengan bahan tahan api seperti: kaolin, ballclay, stoneware clay, kwarsa atau tanah liat tahan api.<br \/>\nc.
