Manometer<\/p>\n<p>Manometer merupakan alat untuk mengukur tekanan gas, yang masuk ke regulator (tekanan di dalam tabung) dan tekanan yang akan keluar dari regulator (tekanan kerja). Jadi setiap regulator dilengkapi dua buah manometer. Selang Las<\/p>\n<p>Beberapa persyaratan utama selang gas adalah :<br \/>\na) Kedap terhadap gas (tidak bocor,<br \/>\nb) Mampu menahan tekanan gas,<br \/>\nc) Tahan terhadap minyak atau pelumas, dan<br \/>\nd) Tidak kaku. Kebocoran pada selang mempunyai dampak negatif,<br \/>\nselain menimbulkan bahaya kebakaran, kebocoran acetylene maupun<br \/>\noksigen merupakan suatu kerugian ekonomi.<\/p>\n<p>Selang harus tahan terhadap tekanan gas dengan angka keamanan minimal 5 kali tekanan kerja, sehingga bila terjadi penyumbatan pada pembakar ataupun terjadi nyala balik selang masih mampu menahan kenaikan tekanan yang terjadi. Di beberapa negara industri dianjurkan memakai selang dengan kapasitas 28 kg\/cm2 berdasar hasil test pabrik pembuat.<\/p>\n<p>Sewaktu digunakan selang tergeletak di lantai, lantai bengkel biasanya kotor oleh zat-zat sejenis minyak, pelumas dan benda-benda keras atau kasar. Oleh karena itu selang harus tahan terhadap minyak dan permukaan lantai yang kasar. Apalagi selang juga digeser-geser kesana kemari, untuk itu selang juga harus lentur.<\/p>\n<p>Selang yang kaku menyulitkan pemakai dan kemungkinan cepat retak\/ rusak apabila harus digeser-geser atau tertekuk. Keadaan itu menyebabkan selang akan cepat retak dan bocor.<br \/>\nUntuk memenuhi persyaratan tersebut biasanya selang dibuat dari karet alam, karet buatan, plastik atau bahan sejenis lainnya sehingga tidak kaku dan kedap gas. Untuk menahan tekanan tinggi selang dilapisi bahan sejenis serat atau benang yang dianyam silang menyilang.<\/p>\n<p>Di bagian luar kemudian dilapisi bahan tahan minyak dan bahan kimia lain yang sering terdapat di daerah bengkel. Oleh karena itu selang las terdiri atas tiga lapis. Konstruksi Selang Las<\/p>\n<p>Berdasar diameter lubangnya, selang dapat dibedakan menjadi ukuran 5; 6,6; dan 8 mm. Perbedaan diameter lubang selang dibuat untuk memenuhi perbedaan kebutuhan gas per satuan waktu, untuk pemakaian pembakar kecil atau pemotong oxy-gas dan sebagainya. Karena gas yang disalurkan ada dua macam, yaitu acetylene dan oksigen, maka selang juga dibedakan dengan kode warna. Selang acetylene (dan bahan bakar umumnya) berwarna merah, berarti bahaya. Selang oksigen berwarna biru, hijau atau hitam.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk menghindari kesalahan perlakuan maka pemakaian selang tidak boleh ditukar dengan alasan apapun. Selang merah khusus untuk selang gas bahan bakar.
