Katup relis sederhana (operasi yang dijelaskan dalam Modul dasar-dasar hidrolik) digunakan apabila perlindungan beban berlebihan diperlukan karena katuprelif ini bereaksi untuk menambah tekanan dengan cepat. Namun demikian, katup relif memiliki tingkat override yang sangat tinggi (perbedaan antara tekanan retaknya dengan tekanan aliran penuh), oleh karena itu untuk mengontrol tekanan operasi rangkaian, maka gunakan katup yang komplek bersama dengan penyimpanan kecil dari penggunaan normal. Jenis katup relif piston yang seimbang beroperasi dengan penyimpanan yang sangat kecil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katup relief jenis piston seimbang<\/strong><br \/>\nSpool utama ditekan melawan dudukan katup utama bersama dengan tekanan awal konstruksi dengan menggunakan main spool pegas. Katup pilot ditekan berlawanan dengan dudukan katup pilot melalui pegas pilot, tekanannya dapat disetel melalui handle.<\/p>\n<p>Apabila aktuator dipengaruhi oleh beban dan tekanan oli pada bagian A, maka tekanan oli merubah katup pilot ke kanan setelah lewat melalui A ke choke pada bagian B. Apabila tekanan oli melebihi tekanan pegas pilot, maka katup pilot akan terbuka dan membiarkan oli mengalir melalui A dan b terus C ke D dan E. Apabila beban meningkat lagi, maka choke yang bertempat di A dan B menjadi terangkat, sehingga menimbulkan perbedaan tekanan antara A dan B. Apabila perbedaan tekanan ini melebihi gaya main spool pegas, maka spool utama akan naik, dan dudukan katup utama akan terbuka, serta membiarkan oli tekanan tinggi dalam rangkaian mengalir ke dalam tangki E. Katup ini dikonstruksi sama dengan katup relif tetapi memiliki ruang pegas yang dialirkan secara terpisah ke reservoir. Katup ini juga memiliki check valve aliran balik integral.
