Oleh karena itu meter D\u2019Arsonval lazim disebut pula sebagai Permanent Magnet Moving Coil (PMMC). Yang diperlihatkan pada Gambar 5.6. Gerakan jarum sistem D\u2019Arsonval ini membutuhkan daya yang sangat rendah dan arus kecil untuk penyimpangan jarum pada skala penuh.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/01\/image-50.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/01\/image_thumb-51.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"409\" height=\"227\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 6.7 Gambar skematik meter PPMC ( D\u2019Arsonval)<\/p>\n<p>Persamaan untuk torsi yang menyebabkan jarum bergerak adalah:<br \/>\nT = B x A x I x N<br \/>\nDi mana<br \/>\nT = Torsi<br \/>\nB = Kerapatan fluksi magnet dalam Wb\/m2<br \/>\nIdp = Arus di dalam kumparan putar dalam amper<br \/>\nN = Jumlah lilitan kumparan putar<\/p>\n<p>Gambar 6.7 memperlihatkan konstruksi meter dasar kumparan putar (PPMC) yang disederhanakan untuk memudahkan memahami sistem mekanisasi pergerakan jarum meter. Pada poros kumparan putar diberi pegas lembut sedemikian sehingga agar jarum meter dapat kembal ke posisi semula setelah arus yang menyebabkan timbulnya torsi pada kumparan putar tidak ada. Alat ukur PPMC diterapkan pada ampermeter, voltmeter dan ohmmeter.<\/p>\n<p>Alat ukur berbasis kumparan putar merupakan alat ukur presisi dengan ketelitian tinggi. Tingkat ketelitian alat ukur ditentukan oleh spesifikasi meter dasar PPMC. Karakteristik meter dasar PPMC yang penting yang menentukan kelas ketelitiannyaadalah:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Arus nominal meter dasar yang dinyatakan dalam mikroamper atau miliamper<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; resistan dalam meter yang merupakan resistan dari kumparan putar yang dinyatakan dalam ohm.<br \/>\nBerikut ini diberikan suatu contoh kasus sebuah alat ukur PPMC dengan spesifikasi sebagai berikut:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Koil kumparan putar terdiri dari 84 lilitan, dengan panjang = 1,5 cm, dan lebar koil = 1 cm dengan nilai resistan sebesar Rm = 88 ohm.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Kerapatan fluksi magnet (B) = 0,2 Tesla (weber\/m2)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; arus nominal yang diijinkan mengalir melalui kumparan putar(Idp)=0,5 mA<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; simpangan penuh jarum sebesar 100 derajad.<br \/>\nAnalisa:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Dengan ukuran koil yang memiliki panjang 1,5 cm dan lebar 1 cm, maka luas penampang koil (A) adalah 1,5 cm2 atau 1,5 x 10-2 m2.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Dengan kerapatan fluksi sebesar 0,2 weber\/m2 dan jumlah lilitan koil kumparan putar (N) = 100 lilitan, dan nilai arus yang mengalir pada koil sebesar 0,5 mA (miliamper) atau 0,5&#215;10-3 amper, maka nilai torsi yang diterima oleh koil kumparan putar (T) menurut formula torsi di atas adalah:<br \/>\n(0,2 weber\/m2) (1,5&#215;10-2 m2)(0,5&#215;10-3 amper) (100 lilitan) = 1,5&#215;10-4 Nm (newtonmeter)<\/p>\n<p>Jadi jika kumparan putar dialiri arus searah sebesar 0,5 mA, akan menerima torsi sebesar 1,5&#215;10-4 Nm. Torsi sebesar ini yang akan membuat jarum meter melakukan gerakan putar. Karena mekanisasi jarum dibuat sedemikian sehingga pada arus sebesar 0,5 mA, maka jarum akan menyimpang sebesar 100 derajat. Seperti diperlihatkan dalam Gambar 6.8.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/01\/image-53.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/01\/image_thumb-53.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"255\" height=\"264\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 6.8 Pergerakan Jarum akibat Adanya Torsi<\/p>\n<p>Meter dasar PPMC yang belum dikalibrasi untuk mengukur besaran listrik tertentu, misalnya ampermeter, voltmeter, dan ohmmeter lazim disebut sebagai galvanometer. Galvanometer merupakan meter dasar dengan batas ukur yang sangat kecil biasanya dalam orde mikroamper.
