Beban tiga fasa dikatakan seimbang bila arus yang mengalir pada setiap fasanya sama, dengan demikian daya yang dipikul oleh setiap fasanya sama. Sehingga daya totalnya adalah tiga kali daya masing-masing fasa. Beban tiga fasa dikatakan tak seimbang bila arus yang mengalir pada setiap fasanya tidak sama, dengan demikian daya yang dipikul oleh setiap fasanya juga tidak sama. Sehingga daya totalnya adalah penjumlahan daya masing-masing fasa. Tetapi karena alasan ekonomis maka pengukuran daya tiga fasa tak simetris dapat dilakukan dengan mengunakan dua wattmeter. Pada cara dua wattmeter ini saluran netral tidak digunakan. Selanjutnya nilai daya aktif tiga fasanya didapat dengan menjumlahkan penunjukkan kedua wattmeter tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Kelebihan lain cara pengukuran daya tiga fasa dengan dua wattmeter adalah, dengan penunjukkan kedua wattmeter tersebut dapat digunakan juga untuk menentukan daya semu dan daya reaktif serta sudut geseran fasanya sekaligus, yaitu sebagai berikut: Misalkan wattmeter pertama pada gambar 7.10 menunjukkan nilai 2,5 kW, wattmeter kedua menunjukkan nilai 2 kW, maka daya aktif tiga fasa<br \/>\nP = 2,8 kW + 1,7 kW = 4,5 kW.<br \/>\ndaya reaktif tiga fasa<br \/>\nQ = \uf0d63 x ( W1 \u2013 W2 ) = 1,9 kVAR<\/p>\n<p><u>Daya semu tiga fasa<\/u><br \/>\nS = P + JQ = 4,5 + j 1,9 = 4,9 kVA<br \/>\nSudut \uf06a = arc tg. ( P \/ S ) = arc. tg.
