Ternyata kumparan mempunyai sifat seperti magnet batang, dengan memiliki kutub-kutub utara dan selatan,seperti diperlihatkan Gambar 1.114.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/11\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/11\/image_thumb-2.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"392\" height=\"358\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 1.114 Penentuan kutub pada kumparan yang dialiri arus.<\/p>\n<p>Aliran arus pada kumparan memutar selayaknya sebuah sekrup. Pada Gambar 1.114a terlihat sekrup berputar ke kanan, sekrup akan berjalan maju. Pada arah gerak maju sekrup akan menjadi kutub utara (U) dan yang lainnya menjadi kutub selatan (S). Pada gambar kanan diperlihatkan bagaimana kutub utara selatan kumparan dapat terbangkit. Gambar kanan nampak potongan kumparan,yang terlihat setengah kumparan pada bagian bawah,sehingga penampang penghantar nampak dari atas.<\/p>\n<p>Maka pada sisi bawah arusnya meninggalkan sehingga bertanda silang, sedang yang atas arusnya mendatangi kita sehingga bertanda titik. Pada penampang penghantar,dengan aturan tangan kanan, arah medan magnetnya berputar ke kanan. Karena dengan penhantar disampingnya arah arusnya sama,maka medan magnet diantaranya akan saling meniadakan. Sementara jika antar penampang atas bawah, arah arusnya saling berlawanan, maka arah medan diantaranya salang memperkuat sehingga arah medan diatara penghantar ini akan memiliki arah ke kanan.<\/p>\n<p>Maka sisi kanan kumparan akan memiliki kutub utara (U) dan sisi kiri akan memiliki kutub selatan (S). Pada Gambar 1.114b dengan aliran arus yang kebalikan,maka kutubnya pun berbalik. Sisi kanan kutub selatan (S) dan sisi kiri kutub utara (U). Besaran Magnet Gantung sepotong besi sedemikian dengan sebuah pengukur tenaga, sehingga besi dapat masuk kedalam koker dengan kumparan kawat email dengan 600 kumparan. Kumparan diberi tegangan catu, hingga mengalir arus 2A.<\/p>\n<p>Catat penunjukan pengukur tenaga. Kemudian ganti koker dengan kumparan dengan jumlah 1200 kumparan. Tegangan catu diubah sehingga arus yang mengalir sebesar 1A. Dari percobaan diatas, ternyata kuat tenaga yang ditunjukkan besarnya sama. Dari percobaan terlihat hubungan antara arus dan banyak kumparan serta tenaga. Hubungan ini dapat dituliskan dengan rumus sebagai berikut :<br \/>\n<strong>\u0398 =\u00a0 I . N <\/strong>\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026 (1.109)<br \/>\n\u0398 =ggm \/ emf (gaya gerak magnet\/ elektromotive force)<br \/>\nI = kuat arus<br \/>\nN = Jumlah kumparan<\/p>\n<p>Jumlah kumparan tidak memiliki satuan sehingga \u0398 memiliki satuan sama dengan kuat arus.Tetapi kadang besarannya berupa Amper Lilit. Contoh : sebuah kumparan memiliki 6000 kumparan dan dialiri arus sebesar 0,1A, berapa besar \u0398 dari kumparan tersebut?<br \/>\nJawab : \u0398 = I . N = 0,1 . 6000<br \/>\nPada kumparan dengan inti ring seperti Gambar 1.115 yang besar memiliki panjang garis medan yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan kumparan yang kecil.
