Pada AC tanpa inverter, kompresor ini hanya bisa dijalankan dengan kecepatan penuh, atau tidak dijalankan sama sekali. Jika suhu ruangan terlalu tinggi daripada suhu yang ditetapkan, kompresor dijalankan, jika terlalu rendah, kompresor dimatikan.<\/p>\n<p>Kecepatan putar kompresor diatur oleh frekuensi arus bolak-balik yang diberi sehingga arus listrik dari jala-jala hanya bisa memutar kompresor dalam satu kecepatan.Dengan pengaturan frekuensi oleh inverter, kecepatan kompresor bisa diatur sehingga tidak perlu dinyala-matikan, tetapi dijalankan terus dengan kecepatan tertentu (tidak harus kecepatan penuh).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/05\/image_thumb10.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image_thumb10\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/05\/image_thumb10_thumb.png\" alt=\"image_thumb10\" width=\"304\" height=\"195\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kompresor yang dijalankan secara konstan mengonsumsi energi lebih kecil daripada kompresor yang dinyala-matikan berulang-ulang kali.Hal ini karena pada saat mulai menyala, kompresor membutuhkan daya sesaat yang besar (bisa ditunjukkan dengan lampu rumah yang berkedip ketika anda menyalakan AC).Maka, AC yang menggunakan inverter bisa lebih hemat daripada AC tanpa inverter. Selain untuk AC, inverter juga digunakan untuk aplikasi-aplikasi lainnya.<\/p>\n<p>Umumnya digunakan untuk menjalankan alat-alat yang terbuat dari motor elektrik AC (arus bolak-balik), misalkan pompa air. Di dunia industri, istilah inverter biasa mengacu pada alat pengendali motor AC.
