Alat ini juga dapat menghasilkan frekuensi tertentu sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Dalam pengoperasiannya sebagai alat ukur elektronik (bersama <i>Oscilloscope<\/i>) menjadi alat utama dalam perawatan dan perbaikan perangkat audio-video. Dalam konteks ini Function Generator dapat diatur untuk membangkitkan gelombang dengan frekuensi tertentu, ayunan gelombang sesuai kebutuhan, dan penghasil frekuensi.<\/p>\n<p>Uraian berikut berisikan fungsi <i>Function Generator<\/i> sebagai;<br \/>\n<strong>A. <i>Function Generator Output<\/i><\/strong><i><\/i><br \/>\nUntuk mendapatkan keluaran (<i>output<\/i>) bentuk gelombang yang diinginkan, dapat dilakukan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut:<i><\/i><br \/>\n1. Pilih tipe gelombang yang dibutuhkan dengan cara memutar saklar putar (<i>rotary switch<\/i>) pada control <i>FUNCTION<\/i> (lihat kembali uraian tentang<br \/>\n<i>FUNCTION SELECTOR <\/i>pada control dan<i> <\/i>indicator).<br \/>\n2. Pilih batas ukur (<i>range<\/i>) frekuensi dengan cara memutar saklar pada control <i>RANGE<\/i>.<br \/>\nHubungkan sinyal dari keluaran utama (<i>Main<\/i> <i>Output<\/i>) ke<i> Channel-<\/i>1<i> Oscilloscope <\/i>dan sinyal dari<i> Sync Output <\/i>ke<i> Channel-<\/i>2<i> Oscilloscope<\/i>.<br \/>\n3. Setel <i>Trigger Source yang terdapat pada Channel<\/i>-2<i> Oscilloscope<\/i>.<br \/>\n4. Dengan tombol pengatur, setel frekuensi sinyal, display akan menampilkan pembacaan frekuensi.<br \/>\n5. Melalui tombol pengatur amplitudo, aturlah amplitudo dari sinyal.<br \/>\n6. Menggunakan tombol <i>OFFSET<\/i> aturlah <i>DC Offset<\/i> sesuai dengan tingkat kebutuhan (dari -10 Volt sampai dengan +10 Volt).<br \/>\n7. Sebelum menyambung <i>Function Generator<\/i> ke beban luar (<i>Oscilloscope<\/i>, rangkaian audio), periksalah impedans beban.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. <i>Sweep Generator Output<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\nUntuk mendapatkan ayunan (<i>sweep<\/i>) bentuk gelombang yang diinginkan, dapat dilakukan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut :<br \/>\n1 . Hubungkan terminal keluaran utama (<i>Main<\/i> <i>Output<\/i>) ke<i> Channel-<\/i>1 dari<i> Oscilloscope<\/i>, keluaran<i> <\/i>ayunan (<i>Sweep Output<\/i>) ke <i>Channel-<\/i>2.<br \/>\n2 . <i>Channel-<\/i>2 dari <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> menampilkan bentuk gelombang gigi gergaji.<br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n3 <\/i><i>. <\/i>Menggunakan tombol \u201cRATE\u201d, atur kecepatan<i> <\/i>ayunan sinyal (dari 5 detik menjadi 10 mili detik)<i>.<\/i><br \/>\n4 . Atur penggunaan frekuensi sebagaimana penjelasan pada <i>Function Generator Output<\/i>.<br \/>\n<i>5<\/i><i>. <\/i>Tarik saklar \u201cRATE\u201d untuk membuat<i> mode SWEEP <\/i><i>on.<\/i><br \/>\n<i>6. Channel-<\/i>1 akan menampilkan gelombang ayunan<i> <\/i>(<i>sweep wave<\/i>).<br \/>\n7. Atur lebar ayunan dengan menggunakan tombol <i>WIDTH<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C. <i>Frequency Counter<\/i><\/strong><br \/>\nUntuk menggunakan <i>Function Generator<\/i> sebagai <i>Frequency Counter, <\/i>dibutuhkan langkah-langkah<i> <\/i>sebagai berikut:<br \/>\n1. Periksalah posisi saklar yang terdapat pada control<br \/>\n\u201cCOUPLING\u201d, saklar pada posisi HF digunakan untuk frekuensi lebih dari 100 kHz. Saklar pada posisi LF digunakan untuk frekuensi di bawah 100 kHz.<br \/>\n2. Pada saat <i>Function Generator<\/i> berfungsi sebagai<br \/>\n<i>Frequency Counter, <\/i>(saklar pada posisi<i> counting mode), <\/i>\u201cEXT COUNTER LED\u201d akan menyala.<br \/>\n3.
