Seperti terlihat pada gambar 2, rangkaian ini terdiri terdiri atas satu saklar aktif (MOSFET), satu saklar pasif (diode), kapasitor dan induktor sebagai tapis keluarannya.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image-12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; display: inline;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image_thumb-12.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"331\" height=\"189\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nRangkaian Konverter DC-DC Tipe <i>Buck<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Untuk tegangan kerja yang rendah, saklar pasif (dioda) sering diganti dengan saklar aktif (MOSFET) sehingga susut daya pada saklar bisa dikurangi. Apabila menggunakan 2 saklar aktif, kedua saklar ini akan bekerja secara bergantian, dan hanya ada satu saklar yang menutup setiap saat. Nilai rata-rata tegangan keluaran konverter sebanding dengan rasio antara waktu penutupan saklar (saklar konduksi\/ON) terhadap periode penyaklarannya. Biasanya nilai faktor daya ini tidak lebih kecil dari 0.2, karena jika dioperasikan pada rasio tegangan yang lebih tinggi, saklar akan bekerja dibawah keandalannya dan menyebabkan efisiensi konverter turun. Untuk rasio (Vd\/Ed) yang sangat tinggi, biasanya digunakan konverter DC-DC yang terisolasi atau topologi yang dilengkapi dengan trafo.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image-13.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; display: inline;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image_thumb-14.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"477\" height=\"391\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Analisis riak arus keluaran diperlukan untuk bisa mendesain tapis atau filter keluaran konverter DC-DC<i>.<\/i> Dari persamaan di bawah ini, terlihat bahwa untuk mendapatkan riak arus keluran konverter <i>buck<\/i> yang kecil<i>,<\/i> diperlukan tapis induktor (L) yang nilainya akan semakin kecil dengan meningkatkan frekuensi penyaklaran. Riak arus keluaran konverter DC-DC akan bernilai maksimum apabila konverter bekerja pada <i>duty cycle (d)<\/i> = 0,5<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image-17.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; display: inline;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/09\/image_thumb-17.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"305\" height=\"322\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gambar dibawah ini adalah kondisi arus yang mengalir di tapis induktor pada saat konverter DC-DC bekerja pada kondisi kritis.Yang dimaksud dengan kondisi kritis disini adalah kondisi dimana arus di induktor mengalir ke beban sampai tepat bernilai nol pada saat saklar OFF, atau induktor bekerja sebagai sumber arus. Dari gambar terlihat bahwa arus yang mengalir di induktor sebanding dengan nilai dari riak arus keluaran.
