{"id":3107,"date":"2023-04-29T02:40:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-28T19:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/?p=3107"},"modified":"2023-04-27T14:51:16","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T07:51:16","slug":"function-generator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/function-generator\/","title":{"rendered":"Function Generator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"notranslate\"><i>Function Generator<\/i> is an electronic measuring tool<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> can generate waves in the form of sine, rectangular and other waveforms according to need.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> This tool can also generate a specific frequency according to need.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> In operation as an electronic measuring instrument (together with <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> ) becomes the main tool in the maintenance and repair of audio-video equipment.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> In this context the Function Generator can be set to generate a wave with a certain frequency, wave swing as needed, and frequency generator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\"> The following description contains the function of <i>Function Generator<\/i> as;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> <strong>A. <i>Function Generator Output<\/i><\/strong><\/span> <i><\/i><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> To get the desired output ( <i>output<\/i> ) waveform, steps can be done as follows:<\/span> <i><\/i><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 1. Select the required wave type by turning the <i>rotary switch<\/i> on the <i>FUNCTION<\/i> control (see the description again about<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>FUNCTION SELECTOR<\/i> on control and<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> indicator).<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 2. Select the frequency <i>range<\/i> by turning the switch on the <i>RANGE<\/i> control.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> Connect signal from main output ( <i>Main<\/i> <i>Output<\/i> ) to <i>Channel-<\/i> 1 <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> and signal from <i>Sync Output<\/i> to <i>Channel-<\/i> 2 <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> .<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 3. Set <i>Trigger Source contained in Channel<\/i> -2 <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> .<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 4. With the regulator button, set the signal frequency, the display will display frequency readings.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 5. Through the amplitude control button, adjust the amplitude of the signal.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 6. Using <i>OFFSET<\/i> button set <i>DC Offset<\/i> according to requirement level (from -10 Volt to +10 Volt).<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 7. Before connecting <i>Function Generator<\/i> to external load ( <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> , audio circuit), check load impedance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\"> <strong>B. <i>Sweep Generator Output<\/i><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> To get the desired waveform <i>sweep<\/i> ( <i>sweep<\/i> ), steps can be done as follows:<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 1.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> Connect the main output terminal to <i>Channel-<\/i> 1 of the <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> , output<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>Sweep Output<\/i> to <i>Channel-<\/i> 2.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 2.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>Channels<\/i> 2 of the <i>Oscilloscope<\/i> display a sawtooth waveform.<\/span><br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>3<\/i> <i>.<\/i><\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> Using the &#8220;RATE&#8221; button, set the speed<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> swing signals (from 5 seconds to 10 milli seconds) <i>.<\/i><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 4.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> Set frequency usage as explained in <i>Function Generator Output<\/i> .<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>5<\/i> <i>.<\/i><\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> Drag the &#8220;RATE&#8221; switch to make <i>SWEEP mode<\/i> <i>on.<\/i><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>6. Channel-<\/i> 1 will display the swing wave<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> ( <i>sweep wave<\/i> ).<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> Set the width of the swing by using the <i>WIDTH<\/i> key.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"notranslate\"> <strong>C. <i>Frequency Counter<\/i><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> To use <i>Function Generator<\/i> as <i>Frequency Counter,<\/i> steps are required<\/span> <i> <\/i> <span class=\"notranslate\"> as follows:<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 1. Check the switch position on the control<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> &#8220;COUPLING&#8221;, the switch at the HF position is used for frequencies over 100 kHz.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\"> The switch at the LF position is used for frequencies below 100 kHz.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 2. When <i>Function Generator<\/i> functions as<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> <i>Frequency Counter,<\/i> (switch in <i>counting mode<\/i> position <i>),<\/i> &#8220;EXT COUNTER LED&#8221; will light up.<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"notranslate\"> 3.
