Dalam hal ini alat ukur cos-Phi meter termasuk suatu alat ukur tipe elektrodinamis kumparan silang.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk rangkaian cos-Phi meter dapat dilihat pada gambar dibwah ini :<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/04\/image-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/04\/image_thumb-1.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"423\" height=\"283\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 51. Cos-Phi Meter<\/p>\n<p>Keterangan GB cos-Phi meter jumlah lilitan P dan Q sama banyak dimana kumparan P dihubung seri dengan tahanan R dan kumparan Q dihubung seri dengan tahanan C, sehingga arus yang melalui kumparan Q mendahului arus melalui kumparan P sebesar 90\u00b0 listrik. Apabila cos-Phi meter bekerja pada jaringan beban resistip maka arus yang mengalir pada kumparan P akan sephasa dengan arus yang mengalir pada kumparan tetap AB sehingga torsi kumparan silang = 0.<\/p>\n<p>Maka jarum penunjuk tidak bergerak yang dikalibrasi cos-Phi = 1. Tetapi jika beban reaktip murni (L atau C). Arus melalui kumparan Q akan sepasa dengan kumparan AB dan berbeda phasa dengan kumparan P sebesar 90 derajat akibatnya kumparan silang (tegangan) bergerak sedemikian rupa dimana kumparan Q membentuk posisi baru menjadi tegak lurus terhadap kumparan AB yang ditandai dengan cos \u03c6 = 0. Selanjutnya jarum akan bergerak sebesar \u03c6 derajat. Perbaikan faktor daya dengan menghitung nilai kapasitor<\/b><br \/>\nSuatu usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk memperkecil geseran phasa antara arus dan tegangan ( mempebesar faktor daya ) adalah dengan menambah kapasitor secara paralel pada beban tersebut karena seperti kita ketahui bahwa arus yang mengalir pada kapasitas yang berlawanan dengan arus yang mengalir pada beban induktif sehingga dengan demikian arus reaktif akan lebih kecil dan bila dapat diharapkan menjadi nol. Seperti diketahui bahwa daya reaktif :<br \/>\n<strong>QC = P (Tan \u03c6 1 \u2013 Tan \u03c6 2)<\/strong><br \/>\nDimana :<br \/>\n<strong>P = V . I . Cos \u03c6<\/strong><br \/>\nDan<br \/>\n<strong>Q = V.
