Di mana besar masing-masing tegang tersebut adalah :<br \/>\nU1 = I. R1<br \/>\nU2 = I. R2<br \/>\nU3 = I. R3<br \/>\nDari kenyataan tersebut, maka sebuah susunan dari dua atau lebih resistor yang terhubung dalam seri lazim disebut sebagai rangkaian pembagi tegangan (voltage devider). Perhatikan rangkaian pembagi tegangan berikut:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/09\/image18.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/elektro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/09\/image_thumb17.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"262\" height=\"210\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 3.28 Rangkaian Pembagi Tegangan<\/p>\n<p>Biasanya rangkaian ini digunakan untuk memperoleh tegangan yang diinginkan dari suatu sumber tegangan yang besar. Gambar rangkaian berikut memperlihatkan bentuk sederhana rangkaian pembagi tegangan, yaitu diinginkan untuk mendapatkan tegangan keluaran vo yang merupakan bagian dari tegangan sumber v1 dengan memasang dua resistor R1 dan R2. Nampak bahwa arus i mengalir melalui R1 dan R2, sehingga:<br \/>\nVI = V0 + VS<br \/>\nVS = I x R1<br \/>\nV0 = I x R2<br \/>\nVI = IxR2 + IxR1<br \/>\nJika V0 dan VS saling dibagikan, didapat:<br \/>\n<strong>V0\/V1 = R2\/R1<\/strong><br \/>\nDari sini dapat diketahui, bahwa tegangan masukan VI terbagi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu V0 dan VS, masing-masing sebanding dengan harga resistor yang dikenai tegangan tersebut.
