Besarnya kapasitas muatan yang tersimpan dalam kapasitor disebut kapasitas kapasitor. Besarnya kapasitas kapasitor disebut kapasitansi. Kapasitas kapasitor adalah banyak muatan yang tersimpan dalam kapasitor ketika di hubungkan dengan beda potensial tertentu. Ketika saklar S ditutup, dalam ruang antara plat akan timbul medan listrik. Setelah beberapa saat pada plat 1 akan terkumpul muatan +q dan pada plat 2 muatan \u2013q. Muatan maksimum q yang terkumpul pada plat sebanding dengan tegangan sumber Us. Harga kapasitansi tergantung pada bentuk sistem kapasitornya, yaitu luas plat dan jarak antar plat. Satuan kapasitansi Farad (F).<\/p>\n<p>Sistem kapasitif adalah sistem yang dapat menyimpan muatan atau medan listrik. Sedangkan kapasitor adalah sistem kapasitif yang dibuat agar mempunyai harga kapasitansi tertentu.
