Dalam pada itu kita pasang arus I dalam A dan waktu t dalam s, sehingga diperoleh satuan muatan listrik adalah 1 As, yang berarti sama dengan 1 C.

Beda Potensial<\/strong>
\nPotensial listrik adalah banyaknya muatan yang terdapat dalam suatu benda. Suatu benda dikatakan mempunyai potensial listrik lebih tinggi daripada benda lain, jika benda tersebut memiliki muatan positif lebih banyak daripada muatan positif benda lain.

Pada Gambar 1.16, terlihat bahwa benda A memiliki muatan positif paling banyak sehingga benda A mempunyai potensial listrik paling tinggi, disusul benda B, C, baru kemudian D. Apa yang dimaksud dengan beda potensial?<\/p>\n

Beda potensial listrik (tegangan) timbul karena dua benda yang memiliki potensial listrik berbeda dihubungkan oleh suatu penghantar. Beda potensial ini berfungsi untuk mengalirkan muatan dari satu titik ke titik lainnya. Satuan beda potensial adalah volt (V). Alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur beda potensial listrik disebut voltmeter. Secara matematis beda potensial dapat dituliskan sebagai berikut.
