Bila pengambilan contoh untuk penetapan volatilitas maka digunakan praktik D 5842. Praktik ini dapat dipakai untuk minyak bumi dan hasil-hasilnya yang mempunyai tekanan uap pada suhu sampling dan penyimpanan \uf0a3 101 kPa (14,7 psi)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Terminologi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Diskripsi dari istilah pada standar ini :<br \/>\n1. Automatic sampler<br \/>\nSuatu peralatan yang digunakan untuk mengekstrak sample representatif dari aliran cairan dalam pipa. Catatan : Automatic sampler biasanya terdiri atas : probe, sample extractor, controller, alat ukur aliran dan wadah contoh.<br \/>\n2. Automatic sampling system<br \/>\nSuatu sistem yang terdiri atas : stream conditioning, automatic sampler dan pencampur contoh.<br \/>\n3. Probe.<\/p>\n<p>Bagian dari automatic sampler yang diperpanjang kedalam pipa dan secara langsung sebagian dari cairan masuk ke sampler extractor.<br \/>\n4. Sample.<br \/>\nSuatu bagian yang terekstrak dari volume total yang mungkin atau tidak mengandung unsur pokok dalam ukuran yang sebanding seperti adanya dalam volume total.<br \/>\n5. Representative sample.<br \/>\nSuatu bagian yang terekstrak dari satu volume total yang mengandung unsur pokok dalam ukuran dan sebanding seperti adanya dalam volume total.<br \/>\n6. Sample Controller.<br \/>\nSuatu peralatan yang menentukan beroperasinya sample extractor.<br \/>\n7. Sampling.<br \/>\nSeluruh tahapan yang diperlukan untuk memperoleh satu sample yang representative yang terdapat dalam pipa, tangki atau wadah lainnya dan menempatkan sample tersebut kedalam wadah contoh yang mana sejumlah contoh uji (test Specimen) yang representative dapat diambil untuk analisis.<br \/>\n8. Grab<br \/>\nVolume contoh terekstrak dari suatu perpipaan dengan satu gerakan atau langkah tunggal dari sample extractor.<\/p>\n<p>9. Sample Extractor<br \/>\nSuatu alat yang memindahkan contoh (grab) dari suatu perpipaan, sample loop atau tangki.<br \/>\n10. Stream Conditioning<br \/>\nPengadukan dari suatu aliran sedemikian rupa sehingga contoh representatif dapat diekstrak.<br \/>\n11. Sample loop (fast loop or slip stream)<br \/>\nSuatu bypass volume rendah yang dialirkan dari pipa utama<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Makna dan Kegunaan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contoh yang representative dari minyak bumi dan hasil-hasinya diperlukan untuk penetapan sifat-sifat kimia dan fisika, yang dapat dipakai untuk menetapkan atau menentukan volume standar, harga dan memenuhi kebutuhan perdagangan dan spesfikasi yang ditentukan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4 Kriteria Pengambilan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contoh Representatif. Kriteria berikut harus memuaskan untuk memperoleh satu contoh yang representative dari suatu aliran :<br \/>\n&#8211; Untuk campuran yang homogen dari minyak dan air, maka air bebas air ter suspensi (Entrained Water) harus terdispersi secara seragam pada titk pengambilan contoh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Grab harus diekstrak dan dikumpulkan dalam satu cara pengaliran proporsional yang memberikan contoh representative.<br \/>\n&#8211; Grab harus pada volume yang konsisten<br \/>\n&#8211; Contoh harus dijaga dalam penampung contoh tanpa mengubah komposisi contoh. Venting uap hidrokarbon selama pengisian dan penyimpanan harus diminimalkan.
