Sehingga hydrolik dapat diartikan sebagai sistem yang menerapkan pipa dengan cairan. Namun pada masa sekarang ini sistem hidrolik kebanyakan tidak hanya menggunakan air tetapi campuran air bercampuran (water emulsion) atau oli saja.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fungsi \/ tugas cairan hidrolik<\/strong><br \/>\nFungsi atau tugas cairan hidrolik adalah :<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Penerus tekanan atau penerus daya.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Pelumas untuk bagian-bagian yang bergerak<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Pendingin<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Sebagai bantalan dari terjadinya hentakan tekanan pada akhir langkah.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Pencegah korosi<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Penghanyut bram\/chip yaitu partikel-partikel kecil yang mengelupas dari komponen.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 &#8211; Sebagai pengirim isyarat (signal)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Viskositas (Kekentalan) cairan<\/strong><br \/>\nYang dimaksud dengan viskositas ialah berapa besarnya tahanan di dalam cairan itu untuk mengalir. Apabila cairan itu mudah mengalir dia dikatakan bahwa viskositasnya rendah.dan kondisinya encer. Jadi semakin kental kondisi cairan dikatakan viskositasnya semakin tinggi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Satuan viskositas<\/strong><br \/>\nUntuk mengukur besar viskositas diperlukan satuan ukuran. Dalam sistem standar internasioanal satuan viskositas ditetapkan sebagai viskositas kinematik(kinematic viscosity) dengan satuan ukuran mm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s atau cm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s.<br \/>\nVK dalam satuan 1 cm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s = 100 mm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s.<br \/>\ncm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s juga diberi nama Stokes (St) berasal dari nama Sir Gabriel Stokes (1819-1903).<br \/>\nmm<sup>2<\/sup>\/s disebut centi-Stoke ( cSt). Jadi 1 St = 100 cSt<\/p>\n<p>Disamping satuan tersebut di atas terdapat satuan yang lain yang juga digunakan dalam sistem hidrolik yaitu :<br \/>\nRedwood 1; satuan viskositas diukur dalam sekon dengan simbol ( R1 ).<br \/>\nSaybolt Universal; satuan viskositas juga diukur dalam sekon dan dengan simbol (SU).<br \/>\nEngler; satuan viskositas diukur dengan derajat engler ( 0E )<\/p>\n<p>Untuk cairan hidrolik dengan viskositas tinggi dapat digunakan faktor berikut:<br \/>\nR1 = 4,10 VK<br \/>\nSU = 4,635 VK<br \/>\nE = 0,132 VK.<br \/>\n<u>VK = Viskositas Kenematik<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Dalam standar ISO viskositas cairan hidrolik diklasifikasikan menjadi beberapa viscosity Grade dan nomor gradenya diambil kira-kira pertengahan antara viskositas minimum ke viskositas maximum.<\/p>\n<p>Tabel berikut ini menunjukkan daftar viskositas grade ISO<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/12\/image-32.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/12\/image_thumb-30.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"365\" height=\"488\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jadi yang digunakan untuk pemberian nomor VG adalah angka pembulatan dari pertengahan diantara viskositas min. dan viskositas max. Misal : ISO VG 22 , angka 22 diambil dari rata-rata antara 19,80 dan 24.20. Karena oli untuk pelumas gear box juga sering digunakan untuk instalasi hidrolik maka grade menurut SAE juga dibahas di sini. Berikut ini adalah grading berdasarkan SAEdan konversinya dengan ISO-VG.
