Begitu juga jika gaya bekerja pada sebuah bidang, gaya tersebut akan memberikan tekanan. Selain pada zat padat, gaya juga menimbulkan tekanan pada fluida, seperti zat cair dan gas. Tekanan yang ditimbulkan pada setiap wujud zat berbeda-beda. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh besarnya gaya dan luas bidang, tempat gaya bekerja. Jika gaya bekerja pada sebuah bidang yang luas, tekanan yang ditimbulkan akan lebih kecil.<\/p>\n<p>Sebaliknya, jika gaya bekerja pada bidang yang sempit tekanan yang ditimbulkannya akan lebih besar. Jadi dapat dikatakan bahwa tekanan berbanding terbalik dengan luas bidang permukaan. Jika gaya besar bekerja pada sebuah benda, maka tekanan pada benda itu besar. Jadi dapat dikatakan bahwa tekanan sebanding dengan gaya yang bekerja pada benda itu. Hubungan antara tekanan dengan gaya dan luas bidang dirumuskan dengan persamaan :<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/04\/image-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-6.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"62\" height=\"52\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\ndimana :<br \/>\np = tekanan (N\/m<sup>2<\/sup>), F = gaya (N) dan<br \/>\nA = luas bidang (m<sup>2<\/sup> )<br \/>\nSatuan tekanan adalah Pascal (Pa). 1 (satu) pascal sama dengan tekanan vertikal dari gaya sebesar 1N pada bidang 1m<sup>2<\/sup> .<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/04\/image-7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/mesin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2017\/04\/image_thumb-7.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"72\" height=\"47\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dalam pemakaian di industri satuan pascal terlalu kecil, sehingga dipergunakan satuan lain yaitu bar yang besarnya sama dengan 100kPa.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 bar = 10<sup>5<\/sup> Pa =100.000 Pa= 0,1MPa.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Di negara-negara yang tidak menggunakan satuan SI menggunakan satuan lain yaitu pounds force per square inch (psi). Jika dikonversikan dengan bar atau pascal menjadi sebagai berikut :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>1 bar = 14,5 psi<br \/>\n1psi = 0,6895 bar = 0,7 bar = 7000 Pa<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Karena segala sesuatu di bumi ini menerima tekanan yaitu tekanan absolut atmosfir (pat ), maka tekanan ini tidak bisa dirasakan. Pada umumnya tekanan atmosfir dianggap sebagai tekanan dasar, sedangkan yang bervariasi (akibat penyimpangan nilai) adalah:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tekanan ukur (tekanan relatif) = pg<br \/>\nTekanan vakum = pv<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hal ini digambarkan pada diagram gambar 7.1. Tekanan atmosfir tidak mempunyai nilai yang konstan. Variasi nilainya tergantung pada letak geografis dan iklimnya. Daerah dari garis nol tekanan absolut sampai garis tekanan atmosfir disebut daerah vakum dan di atas garis tekanan atmosfir adalah daerah tekanan. Tekanan absolut terdiri atas tekanan atmosfir pat dan tekanan ukur p g .
