Ada dua penyebab utama, yaitu:<br \/>\n<strong>1. Perbaikan mendesak<\/strong><br \/>\nDalam perbaikan yang dilakukan terburu-buru agar alat berat bisa segera digunakan bekerja kembali, sumber penyebab kerusakan biasanya tidak sempat dikenali dan diatasi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Kemudahan perbaikan<\/strong><br \/>\nKadang, kemudahan penggantian komponen bisa memperlambat perbaikan. Beberapa komponen mudah dijangkau dan relatif gampang dilepas dan dipasang. Misalnya pompa hidrolik. Komponen pengganti bisa dilepas dan dipasang dengan mudah tanpa memeriksa keberadaan serpihan dan kontaminasi. Kontaminasi merupakan penyebab utama keausan dan kerusakan komponen sebelum waktunya. <\/p>\n<p>Berikut ini adalah langkah-langkah kunci dalam pelepasan komponen, yaitu:<br \/>\n<strong>1. Catat pelepasan komponen<\/strong><br \/>\nPastikan untuk mencatat informasi penting tentang pelepasan komponen untuk dijadikan rujukan selanjutnya. Informasi ini sangat penting untuk membantu mengetahui penyebab penggantian komponen di masa mendatang, dan tingkat kerusakan yang bisa terjadi, kontaminasi sistem, dan tingkat pembersihan sistem yang dibutuhkan. Sebutkan penyebab penggantian komponen<\/strong><br \/>\nPenyebab penggantian komponen biasanya dimasukkan dalam beberapa kategori berikut ini:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00b7 Kerusakan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Perbaikan tak terduga karena komponen rusak atau kinerjanya sangat buruk. Ini sering mengakibatkan serpihan komponen yang rusak mengotori sistem mesin. Jika terjadi kerusakan, sumber penyebabnya harus dicari dan diatasi.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00b7 Aus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Komponen sudah habis masa pakainya karena aus. Kinerja sistem mesin makin lama makin turun sampai pada titik dimana harus dilakukan penggantian komponen<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00b7 <i>Planned Component Replacement (PCR)<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jangka waktu PCR diketahui sehingga komponen bisa diganti sebelum rusak<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Periksa sistem mesin dari serpihan dan kontaminasi<\/strong><br \/>\n<i>Filter, strainer <\/i>dan<i> magnetic drain plug dalam <\/i>mesin harus selalu<i> <\/i>diperiksa untuk memastikan tidak ada serpihan di dalamnya dan memperkirakan tingkat kontaminasi sistem mesin. Jadwalkan untuk memperbaiki atau membangun ulang sistem-sistem terkait<br \/>\nSub-sistem komponen-komponen utama seringkali terkontaminasi atau tidak seawet daur hidup komponen utama bila tidak diperbaiki atau dibangun ulang.
