a. Momen Inersia Terhadap Sumbu Mendatar (X-X)<\/strong>
\nMomen inersia penampang terhadap suatu garis yaitu jumlah luas penampang (elemen) terkecil dikalikan dengan kwadrat jarak normal terhadap titik beratnya, atau luas penampang dikalikan kwadrat jaraknya. Jika luas penampang elemen-elemen terkecil adalah dA1 , dA2 , dA3 \u2026. dAn dan jarak dari penampang ke garis X-X adalah y1 , y2 , y3 \u2026\u2026 yn , maka momen inersia penampang terhadap garis X-X dapat ditulis dengan persamaan berikut :

c. Momen Inersia Polar<\/strong>
\nMomen inersia polar yaitu momen inersia penampang terhadap suatu titik atau perpotongan garis sumbu X-X dan sumbu Y-Y, besarnya dihitung berdasarkan jumlah luas penampang-terkecil dikalikan dengan kwadrat jari jari atau jarak normal terhadap titik beratnya. Jika luas penampang elemenelemen terkecil adalah dA1 , dA2 , dA3 \u2026. dAn dan jarak dari penampang ke titik potong sumbu X,Y adalah r1 , r2 , r3 \u2026\u2026 rn , maka momen inersia polarnya dapat ditulis dengan persamaan berikut :<\/p>\n
