Often we think that the danger of electric shock can only be caused by a high voltage circuit. this is not true. Many cases of occupational accidents electric shock, which is fatal to until death caused by low voltage of 120 volts. If among us ever electric shock but safe did not have a bad result, the incident should not be used as a handle, perhaps you are in luck.

Do not rely on luck in the works. Remember, always work with safety and the safety conditions. Fatal and whether or injury caused by electric shock depends on the human body resistance to current flow or electrons. The amount of current flow is the number of electrons flowing through the human body, which is measured in amperes (A). Electrical shock will occur, when our bodies become part or passive elements of an electrical circuit.

According to the concept of electric circuits, there are three factors that could cause electric shock, the resistance, voltage and current. A result that can be caused by electric shock depends on the resistance of the human body and the value of the touch voltage. The resistance of the human body varies from one person to another. The lower the resistance of the human body, the greater the consequences can be caused by electric shock.

The resistance of the human body can be divided into two, namely external and internal. External resistance is influenced by human skin and internal resistance is affected by the body’s tissues and blood system. Dry skin is a good electrical insulator. Skin moist, wet can lower the body’s resistance value, and therefore the intensity of the electric shock will be even greater if our hands wet.

Internal resistance will be lower when the levels of salt and water in the blood is higher. The magnitude of the resistance value of the human body has a wide range, as shown in Table 1.1. To measure the resistance of the body can be used a measuring tool ohmmeter.

Table 1.1 Typical Body Resistance If someone personnel are working on the electrical panel using a screwdriver to act extra carefully. Because it allows occurred thing tidakdiinginkan eg screwdriver electrodes attached to the panel frame is made of metal, while the screwdriver tip touch-voltage parts. This event will lead to sparks which can cause things that are not desirable, as shown in Figure 1.11.
