Berbagai jenis bahan tahanan telah dikembangkan untuk pemakaian dalam Gauge <\/i>–Gauge <\/i>kawat dan foil<\/i>, seperti:
\na. Constantan adalah paduan (alloy) tembaga-nikel dengan koefisien temperatur rendah. Biasanya Constantan ditemukan dalam Gauge yang digunakan untuk strain dinamik, dimana perubahan level strain tidak melebihi \u00b1 1500 \u03bccm\/cm. Batas temperatur kerja adalah dari 10 o<\/sup>C sampai 200o<\/sup>C.

b. Nichrome V adalah paduan nikel-chrome yang digunakan untuk pengukuran strain statik sampai 375 o<\/sup>C. dengan kompensasi temperatur, paduan ini dapat digunakan untuk pengukuran static sampai 650 o<\/sup>C dan pengukuran dinamik sampai 1000 o<\/sup>C.<\/p>\n

c. Dynaloy adalah paduan nikel-besi dengan Faktor Gauge yang rendah dan ketahanan yang tinggi terhadap kelelahan. Bahan ini digunakan untuk pengukuran strain dinamik bila sensitivitas temperatur yang tinggi dapat di tolerir.<\/p>\n

d. Stabiloy adalah paduan nikel-chrome yang dimodifikasi dengan rangkuman kompensasi temperatur yang lebar. Gauge ini memikiki stabilitas yang sangat baik dan temperatur cryogenic sampai sekitar 350 o<\/sup>C dan ketahanan yang baik tehadap kelelahan.<\/p>\n

e. Paduan-paduan platina tungsten memberikan stabillitas yang sangat baik dan ketahanan yang tinggi terhadap kelelahan pada temperatur tinggi. Gauge s ini disarankan untuk pengukuran uji static sampai 700 o<\/sup>C dan pengukuran dinamik 850 o<\/sup>C. .<\/p>\n
