Suatu interaksi antara atmosfir bumi yang mengandung gas dengan permukaan bumi akan saling memberikan pengaruh. Pada saat bumi mendingin, uap air di atmosfir yang berbentuk gas mulai mengembun dan terjadilah hujan. Air hujan kemudian mengisi cekungan-cekungan membentuk lautan dan memberikan pengaruh pada permukaan daratan yang mempunyai garis permukaan lebih tinggi.<\/p>\n<p>Air merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang dapat merubah permukaan bumi. Air dapat melarutkan bebatuan dalam jumlah banyak. Selama jutaan bahkan milyaran tahun, air telah mengikis gunung-gunung dan meratakan lembah-lembah. Adanya mineral garam di laut yang jumlahnya diperkirakan 1500 milyar ton membuktikan bahwa begitu besarnya kekuatan air yang mengikis bebatuan dan melarutkan bahan-bahan alkali dan mineral lain yang telah tergerus, serta mengalirkan ke tempat-tempat yang lebih rendah dan akhirnya ke laut.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image_thumb5.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"444\" height=\"246\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 4. Pada musim dingin dengan suhu mencapai sekitar 0\u00baC, air yang berada di celah-celah batu tersebut akan membeku dan mengembang akhirnya memecah bebatuan tadi menjadi kepingan-kepingan lebih kecil. Selain air, tumbuhan juga dapat menghancurkan bebatuan yang keras.
