{"id":287,"date":"2024-08-14T02:56:27","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T19:56:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/?p=287"},"modified":"2024-08-13T08:02:56","modified_gmt":"2024-08-13T01:02:56","slug":"tanah-liat-sekunder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/tanah-liat-sekunder\/","title":{"rendered":"Tanah Liat Sekunder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tanah liat sekunder atau sedimentary clay adalah jenis tanah liat hasil pelapukan batuan feldspatik yang berpindah jauh dari batuan induknya karena tenaga eksogen yang menyebabkan butiran-butiran tanah liat lepas dan mengendap pada daerah rendah seperti lembah sungai, tanah rawa, tanah marine, dan tanah danau. Dalam perjalanan yang disebabkan karena air dan angin, tanah liat bercampur dengan bahan-bahan organik maupun anorganik.<\/p>\n<p>Hal tersebut mengakibatkanperubahan sifat kimia maupun sifat fisika tanah liat. Ukuran partikel-partikel tanah pun menjadi lebih halus dan lebih plastis.Jumlah tanah liat sekunder lebih banyak dari tanah liat primer. Transportasi air mempunyai pengaruh khusus pada tanah liat yang salah satunya yaitu gerakan arus air cenderung menggerus mineral tanah liat sehingga partikel-partikelnya semakin mengecil. Pada saat kecepatan arus melambat, partikel yang lebih berat akan mengendap dan meninggalkan partikel yang halus dalam larutan.<\/p>\n<p>Pada saat arus tenang, seperti di danau atau di laut, partikel-partikel yang halus akan mengendap di dasarnya. Tanah liat yang dipindahkan biasanya terbentuk dari beberapa macam jenis tanah liat dan berasal dari beberapa sumber. Dalam setiap sungai, endapan tanah liat dari beberapa situs cenderung bercampur bersama. Kehadiran berbagai oksida logam seperti besi, nikel, titan, mangan dan sebagainya, dari sudut ilmu keramik dianggap sebagai bahan pengotor.<\/p>\n<p>Bahan organik seperti humus dan daun busuk juga merupakan bahan pengotor tanah liat. Karena pembentukannya melalui proses panjang dan bercampur dengan bahan pengotor, maka tanah liat mempunyai sifat: berbutir halus, berwarna krem\/abu-abu\/coklat\/merah jambu\/kuning, dan suhu matangnya antara 900<sup>o<\/sup>C-1400<sup>o<\/sup>C.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image13.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image_thumb16.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"444\" height=\"298\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 14. Pembuatan batu batu dari tanah earthenware<\/p>\n<p>Pada umumnya tanah liat sekunder bersifat lebih plastis dan mempunyai daya susut yang lebih tinggi daripada tanah liat primer. Semakin tinggi suhu bakarnya, makakekerasan meningkat dan porositas berkurang, sehingga benda keramik menjadi kedap air. Dibanding dengan tanah liat primer, tanah liat sekunder mempunyai ciri tidak murni, warna lebih gelap, berbutir lebih halus dan mempunyai titik lebur yang relatif lebih rendah. Setelah dibakar tanah liat sekunder biasanya berwarna krem, abu-abu muda sampai coklat muda ke tua. Secara umum tanah liat sekunder memiliki ciri-ciri:<br \/>\n(a) kurang murni,<br \/>\n(b) cenderung berbutir halus,<br \/>\n(c) plastis,<br \/>\n(d) warna krem\/abu-abu\/coklat\/merah jambu\/kuning, kuning muda, kuning, kecoklatan, kemerahan, kehitaman<br \/>\n(e) daya susut tinggi,<br \/>\n(f) suhu bakar 1200<sup>o<\/sup>C\u20131300<sup>o<\/sup>C, ada yang sampai 1400<sup>o<\/sup>C (fireclay, stoneware, ballclay), dan<br \/>\n(g) suhu bakar rendah 900<sup>o<\/sup>C\u20131180<sup>o<\/sup>C, bahkan ada yang sampai 1200<sup>o<\/sup>C (earthenware).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image18.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/08\/image_thumb19.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"444\" height=\"334\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 15.Seorang ibu membakar produk gerabah di pusat keramik Kasongan.Tanah liat earthenware (gerabah) merupakan salah satu tanah liat sekunder.<\/p>\n<p>Warna tanah alami terjadi karena adanya unsur oksida besi dan unsur organis, yang biasanya akan berwama bakar kuning kecoklatan, coklat, merah, wama karat, atau coklat tua, tergantung dari jumlah oksida besi dan kotoran-kotoran yang terkandung. Biasanya kandungan oksida besi berkisar antara2%-5%dan akan mengakibatkan tanah cenderung berwarna Iebih gelap (merah atau coklat). Tanah liat sekunder biasanya akan matang pada suhu yang lebih rendah karena pengaruh campuran oksida-oksida logam yang berfungsi untuk menurunkan suhu.
