{"id":420,"date":"2025-05-01T05:17:19","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T22:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/?p=420"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:15:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T06:15:02","slug":"dry-shrinkage-and-shrinkage-fuel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/dry-shrinkage-and-shrinkage-fuel\/","title":{"rendered":"Dry Shrinkage and Shrinkage Fuel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-iceapc=\"3\" data-iceapw=\"51\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"14\">Clay in a plastic state still contains water that is formed into ceramic objects.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"8\"> Once dry the ceramic object will experience shrinkage.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"29\"> This happens because the evaporation of water, and water membrane forming on the surface of the body and ceramic objects, causing the granules of clay into meeting each other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image_thumb1.png?resize=289%2C181\" alt=\"image\" width=\"289\" height=\"181\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"1\" data-iceapw=\"16\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"16\"> Figure 20. Changes in the size of the object raw, dry matter, biscuits objects, objects glaze<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"2\" data-iceapw=\"64\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"31\"> The clay will have twice the shrinkage, the shrinkage that occurs from the wet into the dry, so-called dry shrinkage and shrinkage which occur during the combustion process, called shrinkage fuel.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"33\"> The total percentage of shrinkage (dry shrinkage and shrinkage fuel) required should be between 5% -15% .Tanah clay has a variety of different shrinkage, the higher the plasticity of clay, the higher depreciation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"3\" data-iceapw=\"75\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"29\"> Clay too plastic typically has a percentage shrinkage of more than 15%, so that when the clay is formed will have a risk of cracking or rupture is high.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"20\"> Shrinkage of clay that is too high can be improved by reducing or adding ball clay fire clay or grog.<\/span> <span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"26\"> The following are examples of clay shrinkage Singkawang (Kalimantan Barat) of plastic condition, dry, and biscuits (from left to right) as shown in the figure below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image_thumb3.png?resize=268%2C175\" alt=\"image\" width=\"268\" height=\"175\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"1\" data-iceapw=\"7\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"7\"> Pictures 21.Tanah plastic clay, dried, and biscuits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"1\" data-iceapw=\"18\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"18\"> Shrinkage of the clay through a drying process and the combustion process can be seen as shown below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i1.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.tneutron.net\/seni\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2015\/09\/image_thumb12.png?resize=323%2C105\" alt=\"image\" width=\"323\" height=\"105\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-iceapc=\"1\" data-iceapw=\"6\"><span class=\"notranslate\" data-iceapw=\"6\"> Pictures 22.Tahap dry shrinkage of clay.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clay in a plastic state still contains water that is formed into ceramic objects.
