Supporting structure terdiri dari drilling tower (derrick atau mast), substructure dan rig floor.<br \/>\na. <strong>Drilling tower<\/strong> atau biasa disebut menara pengeboran dibagi menjadi tiga jenis, yaitu :<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/01\/image-27.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/01\/image_thumb-27.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"229\" height=\"306\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 4.3. Menara Bor Darat<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Conventional\/standart derrick, menara ini tidak dapat didirikan dalam satu unit, akan tetapi pendiriannya disambung bagian demi bagian. Banyak digunakan pada pengeboran sumur lepas pantai. Untuk memindahkan derrick ini harus dilepas satu persatu bagian kemudian dirangkai kembali di tempat tujuan.<br \/>\n&#8211; Protable Skid Mast. Menara ini posisi berdirinya dari bagian satu dengan lainnya dilas maupun discrup. Tipe ini dapat juga didirikan dengan cara ditahan oleh telescoping dan diperkuat oleh tali\u2013tali yang ditambatkan secara tersebar. Menara ini lebih murah, mudah dan cepat dalam pendiriannya, transportasinya murah, tetapi dalam penggunaannya terbatas pada pengeboran yang tidak terlalu dalam.<br \/>\n&#8211; Mobile atau trailer mounted type mast. Menara Bor Offshore<\/p>\n<p>b. <strong>Substructure<\/strong> adalah konstruksi dari kerangka baja sebagai platform yang terpasang di atas lubang bor langsung. Substructure memberikan ruang kerja bagi pekerja dan peralatan dibawah\/di atas lantai bor.Tinggi substructure ditentukan berdasarkan tipe rig dan BOP stack.
