Pendataran lahan adalah proses menyamakan permukaan tanah untuk menghilangkan cekungan pada lahan, namun tanpa mengubah topografinya lihat Gambar 8. 8. Hal ini sering dilakukan setelah perataan lahan dilakukan, karena topografi lahan yang tidak teratur. Di lahan, sistem drainase permukaan dapat memiliki dua layout yang berbeda, yaitu sistem drainase random dan sistem drainase paralel.

a. Herringbone sistem<\/strong>
\nTerdiri dari pipa saluran drainase lateral yang diletakan secara parallel dan terhubung dengan pipa utama dengan membuat sudut tertentu, biasanya dari kedua sisi. Pipa utama atau sub utama diletakkan pada bagian lahan yang rendah atau lahan yang pada kemiringan lahan yang besar atau lembah.

b. Sistem Gridiron<\/strong>
\nSistem drainase gridiron terdiri dari pipa\u2013pipa saluran drainase lateral yang diletakkan secara paralel dan terhubung dengan pipa utama secara tegak lurus, biasanya dari satu sisi. Sistem ini sesuai untuk lahan di daerah rendah yang datar dengan ukuran lahan yang sama.

c. Sistem Drainase Intersepsi<\/strong>
\nSistem drainase intersepsi dapat menampung rembesan air yang mengalir ke lahan yang terletak lebih rendah atau di bagian bawah. Pipa intersepsi biasanya diletakkan pada bagian atas dan daerah yang basah yang ditentukan dari hasil pengamatan drainase awal.
