Gambar tersebut adalah suatu kondisi lahan yang selalu tergenang atau dengan kata lain lahan dengan sistem drainase jelek. Lahan dengan drainase jelek atau tergenang, umumnya tidak dapat digunakan sebagai lahan untuk bercocok tanaman selain padi. Karena tanaman akan mati, dimana akan tanaman tidak dapat memperoleh oksigen untuk respirasi akar tanaman, selain itu akar tanaman akan membusuk, dan akibatnya tanaman akan mati. Agar lahan tersebut dapat ditanami maka kondisi drainase lahan harus diperbaiki.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/06\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/06\/image_thumb-5.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"325\" height=\"223\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 19. Lahan dengan Drainase yang Jelek<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pengertian Drainase<br \/>\n<\/strong>Drainase lahan pertanian didefinisikan sebagai pembuatan dan pengoperasian suatu sistem dimana aliran air dalam tanah diciptakan sedemikian rupa sehingga baik genangan maupun kedalaman air tanah dapat dikendalikan sehingga bermanfaat bagi kegiatan usaha tani. Definisi lainnya, drainase lahan pertanian adalah suatu usaha membuang kelebihan air secara alamiah atau buatan dari permukaan tanah atau dari dalam tanah untuk menghindari pengaruh yang merugikan terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman.<\/p>\n<p>Pada lahan bergelombang drainase lebih berkaitan dengan pengendalian erosi, sedangkan pada lahan rendah (datar) lebih berkaitan dengan produksi. Tujuan tersebut di atas dicapai melalui dua macam pengaruh langsung dan sejumlah besar pengaruh tidak langsung. Pengaruh langsung terutama ditentukan oleh kondisi hidrologi, karakteristik hidrolik tanah, dan rancangan sistem drainase yaitu (1) penurunan muka air tanah di atas atau di dalam tanah, (2) mengeluarkan sejumlah debit air dari system drainase.<\/p>\n<p>Pengaruh tak langsung ditentukan oleh iklim, tanah, tanaman, kultur teknis dan aspek sosial dan lingkungan. Pengaruh tak langsung ini dibagi kedalam pengaruh berakibat positif dan yang berakibat negatif atau berbahaya. Pengaruh tak langsung dari pembuangan air yang memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap tanaman adalah (1) pencucian garam atau bahan-bahan berbahaya dari profil tanah, (2) Pemanfaatan kembali air drainase.<\/p>\n<p>Sedangkan pengaruh tak langsung yang bersifat negatif adalah (1) kerusakan lingkungan di bagian hilir karena tercemari oleh garam, (2) gangguan terhadap infrastruktur karena adanya saluran-saluran.<br \/>\nPengaruh positif tak langsung dari penurunan muka air tanah (1) mempertinggi aerasi tanah, (2) memperbaiki struktur tanah, (3) memperbaiki ketersediaan Nitrogen dalam tanah, (4) menambah variasi tanaman yang dapat ditanam, (5) menambah kemudahan kerja alat dan mesin pertanian, (6) mempertinggi kapasitas tanah untuk menyimpan air.<\/p>\n<p>Sedangkan pengaruh negatif tak langsung dari penurunan muka air tanah adalah (1) mempercepat dekomposisi atau penguraian tanah gambut, (2) terjadinya penurunan permukaan tanah, (3) oksidasi pirit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Perhatikan gambar 8. 1 berikut ini.
