Kesalahan yang sering terjadi adalah pada letak pengukurannya, antara lain :<br \/>\n(a) Meletakkan alat atau saat membidik (alat optik).<br \/>\n(b) Pembacaan skala (satuan ukuran).<\/p>\n<p>Penggunaan alat dengan cara yang benar dengan keterampilan yang memadai secara otomatis merupakan suatu koreksi. Demikian pula saat pembacaan skala hendaknya dilakukan dengan seksama. Saat terjadi kesalahan meletakkan alat, mungkin saja dapat diperbaiki, tetapi kekeliruan saat membaca skala tidak dapat diperbaiki (dikoreksi). Oleh sebab itu, kecermatan saat mengukur diameter atau keliling sangat diutamakan.<\/p>\n<p>Ketelitian mengukur diameter atau keliling (pohon berdiri atau rebah) tergantung dari beberapa faktor, antara lain :<br \/>\n(a) Alat ukur.<br \/>\n(b) Cara mengukur, meletakkan alat ukur, keterampilan, ketelitian yang diinginkan.<br \/>\n(c) Waktu.<br \/>\n(d) Biaya.<\/p>\n<p>Namun, permasalahan yang sering terjadi saat pengukuran dimensi pohon (diameter atau keliling, tinggi atau panjang) adalah pada kekurangcermatan saat melakukan pengukuran. Ketidakcermatan tersebut sangat berpengaruh terhadap luas bidang dasar (Lbds) dan juga volume pohon. Oleh sebab itu, untuk meningkatkan tingkat ketelitian pengukuran diameter, maka :<br \/>\n(a) Pengukurannya dilakukan minimal dua kali (kecuali pita ukur) mengingat lingkaran batang pohon tidak merupakan lingkaran penuh.<br \/>\n(b) Pembacaan skala saat pengukuran harus dengan cermat. Pengukuran batang pohon (berdiri atau rebah) yang berdiameter kecil memerlukan kecermatan yang lebih tinggi dibanding diameter yang lebih besar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pohon lahan basah (rawa\/payau)<\/strong><br \/>\nLetak pengukuran diameter atau keliling (Lpd) batang pada pohon yang tumbuh di lahan basah (rawa\/payau) adalah didasarkan jenis pohonnya. Beberapa contoh dapat dilihat di bawah ini.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jenis Bruguiera spp.<br \/>\nLetak pengukuran diameter atau keliling (Lpd) batang pada pohon jenis Bruguiera spp. adalah setinggi 1,30 m di atas akar. Pengukuran diameter atau keliling batang pohon ini seperti yang terlihat dalam Gambar 21.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/08\/image-13.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/08\/image_thumb-14.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"211\" height=\"244\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 21. Lpd pohon jenis Bruguiera spp.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jenis Ceriops spp.<br \/>\nLetak pengukuran diameter atau keliling (Lpd) batang pada pohon jenis Ceriops spp. adalah setinggi 1,30 m di atas bagian akar yang berbatasan dengan air. Namun demikian, hal yang harus diperhatikan adalah jenis Ceriops spp. memiliki perakaran banir sehingga perlu ditinjau terlebih dahulu berapa ketinggian banir tersebut. Apabila ketinggian banir tersebut kurang dari 1,30 m, maka Lpd dilakukan setinggi 1,30 m dari batas bagian akar yang kena air.
