Lengan geser ini memiliki fungsi sebagai pembaca skala pada mistar. Satuan ukur yang digunakan adalah cm dengan satuan ukur terkecil dalam mm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>b) Dasar Kerja<\/strong><br \/>\nKarena lengan geser dapat digeser-geser pada mistar yang berskala, maka lengan geser akan langsung menunjukkan besaran diameter batang yang diukur dengan membaca skala pada mistar. Bagaimana cara menggunakan kaliper ini? Cara penggunaan kaliper<\/p>\n<p>Teknis pengukuran diameter batang pohon menggunakan kaliper adalah :<br \/>\n(a) Apitkan kedua lengan sama tinggi dari muka tanah (setinggi dada = 130 cm).<br \/>\n(b) Tentukan bagian lingkar batang yang terpendek (d1) sebagai pengukuran diameter yang pertama.<br \/>\n(c) Pengukuran diameter yang kedua (d2), tegak lurus pengukuran diameter yang pertama atau diameter terpanjang.<br \/>\n(d) Diameter batang pohon adalah rataan keduanya, yaitu :<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/08\/image-37.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/08\/image_thumb-37.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"144\" height=\"38\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>c) Kesalahan ukur keliling batang pohon<\/strong><br \/>\nKesalahan ukur akibat kedua lengan yang mengapit batang pohon tidak sama tinggi atau tidak sejajar dengan bidang datar. Kesalahan yang dibentuk lingkaran batang akan membentuk elips (Gambar 37).
