Skema Pompa Difusser<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prinsip Kerja Pompa sentrifugal<br \/>\n<\/strong>Pada pompa sentrifugal energi penggerak dari luar diberikan kepada poros yang kemudian digunakan untuk menggerakkan baling-baling atau sudu-sudu. Sudu-sudu memutar cairan yang masuk ke dalam pompa sehingga mengakibatkan energi tekanan dan energi kinetik cairan bertambah. Cairan akan terlempar ke luar akibat gaya sentrifugal yang ditimbulkan gerakan sudu-sudu. Cairan yang keluar dari impeler ditampung oleh saluran berbentuk volut atau spiral di sekeliling sudu-sudu dan disalurkan ke luar pompa melalui difuser. Di dalam difuser ini sebagian energi kecepatan akan diubah menjadi energi tekanan.<\/p>\n<p>Pompa sentrifugal adalah salah satu anggota kelompok variable displacement pump. Sifat dari variable displacement pump adalah volume air per menit yang dihantarkan tidak sama dengan volume air yang dihisap setiap menitnya. Hal ini disebabkan adanya losses pada komponen-komponen utamanya seperti impeler, casing dan penutup mekanis. Losses yang terjadi di sudu-sudu dan casing dapat diakibatkan oleh disain geometri sudu-sudu dan geometri<\/p>\n<p>casingnya. Sedangkan losses pada mechanical seals dapat dikurangi dengan pengguna-an seal yang lebih berkualitas dan pemasangan yang presisi. Prosentase losses di impeler mencapai 2% \u2013 10% dari total debit yang dihantarkan pompa. Penurunan efisiensi yang diakibatkan oleh disefisiensi disain casing mencapai 4,7%. Penggunaan mekanikal seal yang berkualitas baik dapat mengurangi kebocoran pada bagian-bagian yang berputar, sehingga menjadi hanya 10-40 cc\/menit.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan adanya acuan seperti disebutkan diatas, maka terbuka peluang untuk meningkatkan unjuk kerjanya dengan cara memodifikasi salah satu atau semua komponen utama pompa sentrifugal tersebut.<br \/>\nDisain sudu-sudu ditentukan oleh bentuk geometri dari sudu-sudu, antara lain meliputi kecepatan spesifik, diameter dalam dan luar sudu-sudu, sudut dalam dan luar kipas (vane), lebar celah pemasukan dan pengeluaran sudu-sudu, ketebalan kipas dan jumlah kipas.<\/p>\n<p>Pompa sentrifugal memiliki dua tipe casing yaitu, volute (spiral) dan diffuser. Casing melakukan fungsi secara efektif mengkonversi gaya sentrifugal yang dihasilkan oleh sudu-sudu menjadi tekanan. Casing tipe volute didesain menyerupai spiral yang mana luas permukaannya semakin membesar kearah lubang pengeluaran. Perubahan luas area tersebut mampu menurunkan kecepatan sehingga tekanannya menjadi meningkat.<\/p>\n<p>Umumnya pompa tipe single stage memiliki casing tipe volute. Casing tipe diffuser memiliki kipas pengarah aliran air pada sekeliling impelernya.
