Sistem irigasi penggenangan liar (wild flooding) yaitu sistem irigasi permukaan dimana air digenangkan pada suatu daerah yang luas, sehingga permukaan tanah menjadi tergenang yang cukup tinggi, sehingga daerah pertanaman akan cukup sempurna dalam pembasahannya. Cara ini hanya cocok jika cadangan dan ketersediaan air cukup banyak.<\/p>\n<p>2. Sistem irigasi penggenangan bebas (free flooding) yaitu sistem irigasi permukaan dimana daerah yang akan diairi dibagi dalam beberapa bagian atau petak, dan kemudian air dialirkan dari bagian yang tinggi ke bagian yang rendah.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/10\/image1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/10\/image_thumb1.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"444\" height=\"262\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 2. Sistem irigasi penggenangan terkendali (check flooding) yaitu sistem irigasi permukaan dimana air dari tempat pengambilan atau sumber air dimasukkan ke dalam selokan atau saluran, dan kemudian dialirkan pada petak-petak yang kecil. Sistem irigasi alur (Border strip) yaitu sistem irigasi permukaan dimana lahan pertanian yang akan diairi dibagi-bagi dalam luas yang kecil dengan galengan berukuran 10 x 100 m2 sampai 20 x 300 m2 dan air dialirkan ke dalam tiap petak melalui pintu-pintu.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/10\/image4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tneutron.net\/sipil\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/10\/image_thumb4.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"444\" height=\"323\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nGambar 4. Sistem irigasi zig-zig yaitu cara pemberian air dimana daerah pengairan dibagi dalam sejumlah petak berbentuk jajaran genjang atau persegi panjang, dan tiap petak dibagi lagi dengan bantuan galengan dan air akan mengalir melingkar sebelum mencapai lubang pengeluaran.<\/p>\n<p>6. Sistem irigasi cekungan (basin method) yaitu sistem irigasi yang biasa digunakan di perkebunan buah-buahan.
