Diesel Motor Working Principle 4 Steps

The working principle is not exactly the same diesel engine with 4-stroke gasoline engine, the difference is only in the combustion process. Motor gasoline fuel burned through the spark plugs while the diesel motor fuel is burned itself due to the high heat and pressure. 4-stroke cycle diesel engine can be shown in the following figure:

Figure 4.15 Cycle 4 stroke Diesel Engine Combustion

Step Suction
a. The piston moves from TDC to BDC
b. Suction valves open
c. The exhaust valve is closed
d. Occurs vacuum in the cylinder, which causes the pure air into the cylinder

Step Compression
a. The piston moves from BDC to TDC
b. Suction valve closed
c. The exhaust valve is closed
The air is compressed to a pressure and temperature to be 30 kg / cm2 and 500 ° C

Step Enterprises
a. Suction valve closed
b. The exhaust valve is closed
c. Injectors inject fuel combustion that occurs that causes the piston moves from TDC to BDC

Step waste
a. The piston moves from BDC to TDC
b. Suction valve closed
c. The exhaust valve opens
d. Piston pushing flue gas exit

In the diesel engine and a conventional gasoline engine all the engine components is almost the same in construction, the difference is only in the fuel intake system, and construction of the cylinder head. For it is only described the construction of the cylinder head while the fuel system will be explained in the next section.
