Kesiapan seorang perempuan untuk hamil dan melahirkan atau mempunyai anak ditentukan oleh kesiapan dalam tiga hal, yaitu kesiapan fisik, kesiapan mental/ emosi/psikologis dan kesiapan sosial/ekonomi.
