Close Radiator

The radiator is equipped with a pressurized radiator cap and shut the radiator. This allows the coolant temperature rise of 100 ° C without boiling occurs. The use of a pressurized radiator cap (pressure seal) takes precedence because the radiator increases the cooling effect and make a difference in temperature between the outside air and coolant. At the radiator cap fitted valve and vacuum relief valve as in the second picture below.

a) How the relief valve
When the cooling water temperature rise will lead to increased pressure, when the pressure reaches 0.3 to 1.0 kg / cm2 at 110-120 ° C. Relief valve will open and free the excess pressure through the overflow pipe.

b) How the vacuum valve
When the cooling water temperature dropped after the machine stops and forming a vacuum in the radiator that will open the vacuum valve suck cooling water from the reservoir (see figure below 4:21).

c) Tank Reserves
Reservoir is connected to the radiator through the overflow pipe. Reservoir serves to prevent the waste of cooling water and ensure it can send coolant. For more details, see figure 4:22.

d) Water Pump
The water pump is used to pump the coolant from the radiator to the water jacket. Generally that is widely used is the centrifugal type. The water pump is driven by a fan belt or timing belt. 4:23 image below shows an example driven water pump fan belt.

e) Thermostat
Thermostat serves to accelerate the achievement of the working temperature of the engine. Common type of thermostat used is the type of wax (wax). In the thermostat are Jiggle valve that serves to mem-perm easy entry of water during charging. As shown in the picture below 4:26 in using wax.

f) Cooling Fan and Clutch Fluid
The radiator is cooled by outside air, the cooling is not enough when the vehicle stops as well as the heavy equipment. It required the fan (fan) which will add to the cooling.

Figure 4:27. Construction Drive Fan

The cooling fan is driven by an electric motor or fan belt. As shown in the picture above 4:27. Fluid coupling function more efficiently cool the radiator. When the air temperature is low, a low fan speed so that the engine gets hot and when the high temperature, automatic fan rotation becomes faster.

g) Rope Fans
The cooling fan is generally driven by the fan belt. Fan belt is divided into V-belts and V ribbed belt.

V belt there are two types, namely the conventional type and the type of the cog. This type is often encountered as a driver of the fan. For more details can be seen in the picture above 4:27.

(2) V Ribbed Belt
V ribbed belt has the advantage of a great power transfer efficiency and high heat, and durable
