Process Combustion Test Objects

1. Prepares test specimens that have been   a slab of dry land   as many as 15 pieces of clay. Perform   three times for each combustion   type of formula (5 pieces plates   for each combustion). For   combustion temperature data, record   whenever the temperature rise time   combustion increases and   other necessary information.

2. Arrange dried specimens of several formulas have been made for the first combustion (PS.08). Put PS. 08 are in the furnace, and remember stake Seger should be seen from a hole reconnaissance (spy-hole).

3. Turn furnace   accordance with the instructions   operation, observe and record   temperature rise in the combustion   pyrometer through every 20 minutes   by filling in the table 4.5. (Temperature   practice).   4. Perform retaining temperature for   20 minutes. Combustion temperatures   has reached the appropriate temperature   PS. 08 is characterized by   PS curling. 08 The   and pyrometer pointing figures   955 º C. Then turn off the stove   burning and let   cool for at least 12   hours.

5. Take the test object that has   burned from the furnace to   temperature testing   maturity clay. Perform   the same thing to the test object   other combustion   corresponding PS. 06 and PS. 04.

All ceramic objects are burned to achieve titikvitrifikasi considered to have reached a mature point with signs:
a. Loud, shrill when a knock will
b. Solid, the pores are relatively small or nonexistent because filled with molten glass.
c. Water-resistant, does not absorb water so it can be used as a water container.
d. Fuel color, from light colors to dark colors, depending on the size of the content of impurities, particularly oxides of metals such as iron, manganese and titan.
e. Losses, as a result of changes in the physics and chemistry of clay minerals during combustion with the size of shrinkage depends on the type of clay used.
