Sinkon 3 Phasa Generator and Rail

1. Protection cable duct between the generator and rail

Performed using a cable that is placed on a special channel in the soil and if it is above ground wires placed on shelves buffer that protects the cable mechanically. The mechanical protection to prevent damage to cables and can cause interference. Disorders of the cable between the generator with rail can damage the generator. Damage to the generator is undesirable because it requires expensive repair costs and repair time can lead to long so that power supply outages.

2. Way to install the cable channel
Between the rails generators are current transformers and voltage transformers for measurement and protection purposes. Figure II.34 shows the rail line between the generator and the cables. After going through the current transformers and voltage transformers, cables connected to the switch without circuit breaker (PMT) and switch separator (PMS) before being connected to the rail.

PMS: Separator switch / disconnecting switch (DS) PMT: Power Circuit (Circuit Breaker)

The cable used is a 1-phase wiring cable consists of 3 pieces. The goal easier installation, especially the presence of a current transformer and voltage transformer as well as facilitate the repairs if there is damage to the cable. Neutral point of the generator is connected to form a relationship star. For small generators with a capacity below 5 MVA, the generator is not earthed neutral point.

For generators are more than 5 MVA, are encouraged to do the generator neutral grounding point past the prisoners, coil, or a small transformer (transformer distribution) for protection. In doing grounding, use a similar cable to the cable that connects the generator to the rail. In practice, specifically large generators (above 10 MVA) performed a bifurcation to give power to the transformer’s own use.

Branching on the rail line between the generator and should be avoided, and if so required implementation, by making a small rail in a special room and should be avoided because it will cause a large fault current due to its proximity to the generator and can cause fatal damage because the generator can not produce.
