Large power center, on a 100 MW interconnection systems generally operate within. In the center there are many interconnected system of electricity and a lot of the load center (called the substation / GI) are connected to each other by a transmission line. In each there is the burden of GI distribution network that caters to consumers of electric power. Consumers and its distribution network is a distribution subsystem and the subsystem of the GI generally do not have any electrical connection to one another (interconnection).
The purpose of the system interconnection among others, is to maintain the continuity of power supply because if one plant is still impaired can be supplied from other plants connected interconnection. Other objectives are mutually lighten the burden to be borne by an electrical center.
Figure I.14 shows a portion of the interconnection system consists of a power station, two GIs along with distribution subsystem. Because surgery centers in the electrical interconnection system influence each other, it is necessary to coordinate the operation. Coordinating these operations conducted by the central regulator of the load.
1) Coordination in maintenance.
2) The division of the burden economically.
3) Setting the frequency.
4) voltage settings.
5) Procedures to overcome interference.
