Types of Power Center

Electric power generated at the centers powerhouse. Based on the source and origin of the electric power generated, can be recognized centers of power:

1. Thermo power center
Thermo power plant using solid fuels, liquid, and gas. Thermo power plant, consisting of:
a) Steam Power Plant (Power Plant).
In steam power plants using coal fuel, oil, or gas as the primary energy source.
To play a round of generators using a steam turbine. Power to drive a steam turbine from the boiler. Materials such as boiler fuel coal, fuel oil, and others.

b) Gas Power Plant (power plant)
In the gas power plants, the primary energy comes from gas or fuel oil. To rotate generators use gas turbine propulsion or gas motors. To rotate the gas turbine or gas engine using gas power. Derived from high gas kitchen, kitchen coke, and natural gas.

c) Diesel Power Plant (diesel)
At the center of diesel generators, diesel primary energy as energy derived from fuel oil or fuel gas. To rotate generators player to use it’s power from diesel rotation.

d) Power Plant Gas and Steam (PLTGU)
Power center is a combination of gas and steam power plant with the plant. Flue gas from the power plant used to generate steam by boilers and produce steam as steam turbines. The next steam turbine rotating electric generator

e) Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP)
Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) is a plant that does not have a steam boiler for steam turbine propulsion comes from the earth

2. Center hydro power
Central electricity using hydro or often called the Central Power Plant (HEPP). At the center of hydroelectric power, the main energy comes from hydropower (primary energy). The hydroelectric turbine moving water and water turbines turning electric generators. The power station uses water power as a primary energy source.

Water Power Center is divided into two (2), namely:
a) hydroelectric Center Hill area, utilizing high-margin high water fall.
b) hydroelectric center flat area, utilizing high water flow and low water fall.

Hydro power plants is widely used in countries that have hydropower as an energy source. Power is buried in hydropower is generally large and only a small portion that has been used. Set up hydro power plants require huge costs, but the benefits are lower operating costs per kilowatt compared with thermo power plants.
Electric central hill region, especially using high waterfall. An example of an electric central hill region in East Java, eg: Mendalan, Siman, Karang Kates. In Central Java, Tuntang, district. (Banyumas) and in West Java Teak Luhur.

Natural conditions often help alleviate the cost of operation and manufacture of Power Plant Water. The important thing is to regulate the water flow. Water discharge for one year, was the center of daily electricity service electricity consumption, the reservoir is used to overcome them. Hydro power center flat area behind the most popular of the electrical center of the hill.

Electric central flat area put the amount of water as a source of energy, while a plunge in the water is a secondary thing. Due to the power station area is located on the banks of river water (small streams) or above the dam. Dam is made such that the water easily discarded when the overflow (flood). In this case difficult to regulate the discharge of water, since it is difficult to save a lot of water, being limited height, so it can only be held daily accumulation. As a means of mechanical propulsion plant is a water turbine.

3. Nuclear Power Plant (NPP)
At this plant, nuclear power is converted into electricity. Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is a power plant using uranium as fuel and a source of primary energy. Uranium undergo fusion process (fussion) in a nuclear reactor that produces heat energy. The resulting heat energy is used to produce steam in a boiler.

The resulting steam boiler then used to drive a steam turbine and steam turbine rotating electric generator. Thermo power center located in the center or consumer use, except for nuclear power plants. While hydroelectric facility located away from the center or consumer use including nuclear power plants.
