Due to the higher compression ratio, diesel engine combustion chamber is smaller than the gasoline engine combustion chamber to obtain a high compression ratio and a more complicated construction. The cylinder head is made of cast iron and serves as a mounting mechanism of the valve, injector and glow plug as well as the combustion chamber. The cylinder head is divided into 2 types a. indirect combustion and b.
Direct combustion
