The Internet is a network of computers connected together. There is no company that has internet, which is a cooperative effort by the system set standards and rules. The purpose of connecting computers together, of course, is to share information. There are many ways information can be sent between computers, including email, file transfer (File Transfer Protocol), and many more specialized services that are built into Internet services.
This method is a standard for transferring data or documents through a network known as protocols. World Wide Web, more commonly abbreviated as WWW is famous for an information space that is used by global identifiers called a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) to recognize definitely useful resources. WWW is often considered synonymous with the Internet as a whole, even though he is only part of the Internet.
WWW is a collection of web servers around the world that have utility to provide data and information to be used together. WWW is the most interesting part of the Internet. Through the web, users can access information that is not only text but can also include images, sound, video and animation. This utility is still relatively new compared to electronic mail, WWW is actually a collection of documents stored on web servant, and that peladennya on five continents, including Indonesia, which are connected together through the Internet network.
Documents this information is stored or created with HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). One page document consisting of text information can be interconnected with other text or even to other documents. The linkage is referred to page through a text link. This information document does not consist only of text but can also include images, containing sounds and even video clips. The link between the document as it is commonly called hypermedia.
So it can be concluded that the WWW is a group of multimedia documents are interlocked using hypertext links. By clicking a link (hyperlink), then the user can move from one document to another. WWW is a program invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1991. Initially Berners-Lee just wanted to find a way to compile archival research. To that end, he developed a system for personal use.
The system is a software program called Enquire. With the program, Berners-Lee managed to create a network linking various archives that facilitate the search for the required information. This is what later became the basis of a rapid development known as WWW.
WWW developed first at the European Particle Physics Research Center (CERN: Organisation Europeenne pour la Recherche Nucleaire), Geneva, Switzerland. In 1989, Berners-Lee made a submission to a global hypertext project manufacture, and then in October 1990, ‘World Wide Web’ has been able to run in an environment of CERN. In the summer of 1991, the WWW was formally used extensively on the Internet.
