Testing Acidity In Water

Equipment:
(1) pH meter that has a pH range of 0-14 with a precision of 0.01 and has been calibrated at the time of use.
(2) Buret 25 mL or other titration apparatus with a clear scale.
(3) flask of 100 and 1000 ml.
(4) glass measuring 100 mL.
(5) Pipette size of 10 mL.
(6) Erlenmeyer flask 50 and 250 mL.

Preparation of the test specimen:
(1) Provide the test sample has been taken in accordance with the method pangambilan sample water quality testing.
(2) Measure 200 mL of sample in duplicate and enter it into a 250-ml Erlenmeyer flask.
(3) If the test sample contains chlorine respectively add 2 drops of 0.1 M sodium thiosulfate solution

How acidity test:
(1) Measure 100 mL of sample and put into a 250-ml Erlenmeyer flask.
(2) Add 3 drops of methyl orange indicator.
(3) In the event of orange red color, titration with 0.02 N NaOH solution until the color orange.
(4) In the event of a yellow color, discard the test sample.
