Furnace will be safe if we follow the basic instructions of use. Safety during use of the furnace is the most important thing, because we are dealing with very high temperatures. Due to high temperatures, burning ceramic materials also releases gases which are toxic. We need to learn first how to use to keep things safe.
1) Safety Equipment
Even if the furnace has adequate insulation, its outer surface can be quite hot when touched skin. Therefore, following the things need to be considered:
- Gloves should be worn when operating the furnace in all parts, either during combustion or during cooling. Although the furnace was turned off, a very high heat will persist in a few hours. Do not open the furnace or touch anything until the furnace was cold banar.
- Dark glasses are used when we look into the hole reconnaissance. This is done to avoid the eyes of the heat radiation. Protective goggles also facilitate viewing cone and burnt objects more clearly.
The furnace should be kept outdoors or have direct access to outside space. Each combustion will release gases that could potentially irritate the body, sometimes toxic and can be lethal if not followed langakah correct security measures.
- Ventilation, exhaust flow should be installed correctly. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use all licensed equipment (SNI).
- Always turn on the fan in the drainage vacuum furnace to avoid exposure to dust glaze.
2) Exhaust on Gas Furnaces
The gas released by combustion can cause respiratory problems. It will increase when we commit arson and burning salt reduction. Gas which should receive attention:
- Carbon dioxide (CO2) which causes excessive drop in blood oxygen levels, hearing loss, pulse, and blood pressure
- Carbon monoxide (CO) that is released during combustion reduction. It causes headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and drowsiness. Carbon monoxide can be deadly.
- Sulfur dioxide (SO2), which is released when burning salt causes a lung irritant.
3) Security furnaces in general
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not operate the furnace in a wet place.
- Do not open the lid / door furnace during operation.
- Do not open the furnace when the object is still hot.
- Do not put anything on the stove at least 1 ft (30 cm). Do not place anything on top of the stove.
- The furnace must be operated in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not install or unplug the furnace except the furnace in the off state. Stacking and unloading objects to / from the furnace in the condition of the furnace off.
- To use a used stove, contact the manufacturer for installation instructions.
- When the fire dies, immediately close the gas flow. Open the door of the furnace and let the gas out and wasted. Do not light the stove, if not depleted gas wasted.
