In the system used hydraulic hose fitting there are two types, namely:
1. Connectors – part of which has a socket and hose nipple or gloves.
2. Adaptor – connect a separate section for connecting the hose to the other channel.
Connectors and adapters both females and males are called relays. Hollow female connector pair with type males (see Figure 3.96). Hose connector made of steel, brass, stainless steel, or in some use is made of plastic. Steel is commonly used because it is able to resist high pressure and heat.
Connector hose is also designed for permanent connection or can be used again. Permanent hose connector is usually discarded after use, and can not be used anymore. This connector crimped on hose. In developed countries agents hydraulic component has its own pengkerut machine that can make hose assemblies using a permanent junction.
Hose connector can be used again as well screwed, clamped, or pressed on the hose. If the hose has been damaged due to wear, penyambungnya can be taken and used on a new piece of hose inventory. Almost all relays that can be used again be transformed into another type by changing the screw nipple in socket. Connectors that can be used again the price is slightly more expensive than permanent.
Connectors medium and high pressure hose if at first glance to have the same shape. But each one should be distinguished for proper usage. Usually sold or traded by the manufacturer, connector for high pressure have notches, while for medium pressure not. (See Figure 3.90)
