Resistivity Measurements With Ohmmeter

Measurements can be done with the prisoners in two ways: (1) direct and (2) Indirect. Measurement of prisoners are directly performed by using the ohmmeter. In essence the ohmmeter used to check the value of the electrical resistance. But because of the special characteristics, then the ohmmeter can be used also to examine the different elements dropping in a circuit or circuit element of their relationship with the land (ground).

Electrical power must be turned off when going to measure the value of resistance in an electrical circuit, if you forget to turn off the electric power, the ohmmeter will be damaged. An example of a multimeter or universal meter used to measure the resistance shown in Figure 8.1 The universal Meter can be used also to measure the electric voltage direct current and alternating current and direct current small scale.

Resistivity or resistance to be measured directly connected to the cable from the ohmmeter or multimeter either analog or digital type. Figure 8.2 shows the connection ohmeter to measure the value of resistance in an electrical circuit.

Usually ohmmeter equipped selector switch to facilitate multi-limit measure. This is so that the measurement can take place more accurately. Limit measure selected with the mode selector menempatkanselektor measurement scale prisoner. Resistor measured cable connected dengankedua meter and read resistance value on a scale of meter.Pengukuran indirectly, using a special detention meter with working principles such as the Wheatstone bridge.
