Tree Diameter Measurement

Measuring the diameter of trees in Indonesia using the metric system in which the measurement is carried out on a tree with a height of 1.30 m above ground level (dat). 1.30 m height limits for measuring the diameter dat is acceptable in Indonesia given the numbers 1.30m dat for most Indonesian people provide comfort in measuring the diameter, the measurement can be performed with no bending or tiptoe. However, the condition of trees and forest soil will greatly affect the measurement of the diameter of a tree stand in the woods. Why?

Forest stand conditions are not uniform impact on the measurement of forest trees. The differences in these measurements depend on the characteristics of the tree and the forest soil condition. Listed below are some of the characteristics of trees and forest soil conditions that impact the difference in the measurement of forest trees, namely:
(A) The trunk grows not straight but oblique (Figure 3).
(B) The root buttresses on the tree (Figure 4).
(C) The trunk at a height of 1.3 m dat deform (Figure 5).
(D) The trunk form a forked or fork (Figure 6).
(E) The tree which grows in the swamp or brackish (Figure 7).
(F) The ground where trees grow sideways (Figure 8).
